During this 2-hour course, we will focus on the importance of good nutrition for infants and young children. You will be presented with information that is intended to help you gain a better understanding of age appropriate feeding practices, breastfeeding recommendations, methods for appropriate bottle feeding, transitioning to solid foods, and general nutrition recommendations for young children. Basic First Aid: Protecting the Well-Being of the Children in Your Care

Protecting the well-being of children should be the first priority of any child care program, and one that cannot be taken lightly. Because children are children, injuries cannot always be prevented; however, providing a safe environment along with careful supervision greatly decreases the likelihood of a child becoming injured while in your care. This 2-hour course addresses best practices in basic first aid in child care settings. Child Abuse and Neglect: A Guide for Child Care Professionals

Each year, nearly a million cases of child maltreatment, which includes both abuse and neglect, are confirmed, and many more probably go unreported. Maltreatment has a long-term impact on the affected child, and also carries heavy costs for families, communities, and society as a whole. This 2-hour course is designed to give child care professionals, including caregivers and administrators, the tools to prevent, identify, and report child abuse and neglect among the children in your care. This 2-hour course will help you better understand the dangers of abusive head trauma and how to take steps to protect the children in your care from this type of abuse.
